Quality Care Research Fund

The Workplace Health Management Working Group undertakes a broad examination of the total cost of workplace health, including disability management, productivity, workers' compensation and related issues.
There are currently five active working groups. The Medical Education Working Group examines how to more adequately prepare physicians to practice in a managed care environment from medical school through residency and CME. Its current focus is faculty development and implementation of managed care curricula. The Information Systems and Technology Working Group looks at issues such as patient and data confidentiality, data mining technology and data standards. Information management issues will be increasingly critical to the delivery of quality health care, impacting both academic medical centers and managed care organizations.
The third principal activity of the Forum is a semiannual meeting in Washington, DC. These sessions are organized around a theme of general interest to a broad cross-section of individuals from the varied group of Forum participants.
